The Enlightened Dog is owned and operated by Dara Lambert.

Dara holds a Bachelor‘s degree in Psychology from the University of Delaware with a minor in Sociology. She is a graduate of Animal Behavior College, one of the largest dog training schools in the nation and has attended the Peaceable Paws Dog Training and Behavior Academy with renowned dog trainer and author, Pat Miller.

Dara has been working professionally with dogs since 2002. As the general manager of a busy dog daycare, Dara had the opportunity to interact with hundreds of dogs and their owners. Dara is also a regular volunteer at the Fauquier SPCA where she assists with adoptions and participates in the exercise and training of available dogs. She continues to supplement her hands-on experience by regularly attending classes, seminars and workshops given by leaders in the field of dog training. She is a proud member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and an approved AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator.

Dara lives with her husband, Andy, and their three adopted dogs Rudy, Sancho and Daisy Lou.
